Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe and professional manner, strictly adhering to all local, state, and federal DOT regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and cargo are secure and road-ready.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, utilizing proper lifting techniques and handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (DVIR) and keep accurate records of cargo delivery status.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve any delivery issues and ensure on-time arrivals.
- Adhere to company safety policies, including seatbelt usage and mobile phone restrictions.
- Uphold a clean driving record and professional appearance at all times.
Qualifications
- Current and valid CDL Class A License required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination (must meet medical standards).
- Pass a background check and drug screen as part of our hiring process.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road safety, and navigation in the New York metropolitan area.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in traffic.
