Job Overview
As a CDL Driver at MetroFreight, you will be the face of our company, ensuring that our clients' cargo arrives safely and on time. You will operate in and around the Baltimore metropolitan area and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers to transport goods efficiently and safely.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) and report any issues immediately.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring weight distribution and securement.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and all required delivery paperwork.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no more than one preventable accident in the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle operations and safety regulations.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging and paperwork.
