Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers on interstate and intrastate routes to Virginia and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo is secured properly and adhering to weight regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required documentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid and current CDL Class A or B license.
- Current DOT Medical Card (Medical Examiner's Certificate).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and potential overtime.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional attitude.
