Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight safely and on schedule
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle documentation
- Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety protocols at all times
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation systems while meeting delivery deadlines
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status and potential delays
- Assist with loading/unloading when required and verify cargo accuracy
- Report maintenance issues promptly to ensure vehicle readiness
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with HOS regulations and electronic logging devices
- Strong navigation skills and knowledge of Southwest terrain
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
