Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) to transport goods throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring weight distribution and securing loads properly.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure a secure delivery environment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B (Training provided if you have a clean driving record).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Willingness to undergo a background check.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety and punctuality.
- Basic math skills for cargo calculations and log entry.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts based on delivery schedules.
