Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to deliver freight to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs, including electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and federal motor carrier safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle.
- Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Candidates with a standard license will be considered for training programs.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Must have a clean driving record (no major moving violations within the last 3-5 years).
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and fingerprinting.
