Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently on designated local routes.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and proper lifting techniques.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) and document findings.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and logs.
- Ensure cargo is secure, covered, and protected from damage during transit.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, traffic laws, and Department of Transportation regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedule changes or delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) or DOT medical card in possession.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience within the last 3 years.
- Clear driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong understanding of cargo securement and DOT regulations.
