Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) for regional routes between DC and NC
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations
- Inspect vehicles before/after trips and report maintenance needs
- Coordinate with dispatch for real-time route adjustments and load tracking
- Ensure secure loading/unloading of freight using proper techniques
- Provide exceptional customer service during client interactions
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and company policies
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (3+ years experience)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with DC metro and NC highway systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Previous experience with hazmat or refrigerated freight preferred
- Willingness to pass background check and MVR verification
