Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely operate Class A trucks to deliver freight to designated locations across the region.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Load & Unload Cargo: Securely load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, ensuring cargo integrity throughout the journey.
- Maintain Logbooks: Accurately complete and maintain Daily Driver's Logs (DVIR) and electronic logging devices (ELD) in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Customer Service: Represent Apex Logistics professionally, maintaining a clean driving record and courteous demeanor with customers.
- Route Planning: Follow delivery schedules and route maps efficiently to ensure on-time delivery and fuel optimization.
Qualifications
- CDL Class A License: Valid commercial driver's license is required.
- Clean Driving Record: No major violations within the last 3-5 years (MVR check required).
- Physical Ability: Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam, including vision and hearing tests.
- No Experience Required: Willingness to learn is a plus! We offer paid training for new drivers.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a dispatch team and adhere to safety protocols.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills for communicating with dispatch and clients.
