Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe and efficient manner, strictly adhering to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with FMCSA standards.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper securement and weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery documents.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and any delays.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and well-maintained at all times.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies regarding hazardous materials handling, if applicable.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B (CDL Class A preferred for long-haul roles).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 3 years.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Physical) and a clean driving record (MVR).
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Strong understanding of cargo securement procedures and safety regulations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
