Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Deliver freight to customers in a timely manner, ensuring proper handling and placement of cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records for compliance.
- Foster positive relationships with customers and dispatchers through clear and professional communication.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks, such as tire pressure and fluid levels, as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Strong knowledge of local and regional geography in Georgia and Virginia.
