Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) safely and efficiently to deliver freight to designated locations in Houston and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily delivery logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Represent Apex Freight Logistics professionally at all times, maintaining a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the proper endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than 3 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to be cross-trained for regional opportunities, including Florida routes.
