Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Commercial Vehicles: Drive tractor-trailers, box trucks, and delivery vans on designated routes in and around San Francisco.
- Load & Unload Cargo: Secure freight using straps and chains, ensuring cargo is properly balanced and protected during transit.
- Maintain DOT Compliance: Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections accurately and log hours of service (HOS) in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers at delivery sites, ensuring packages are received in perfect condition.
- Route Management: Utilize GPS systems to follow optimal routes, monitor traffic conditions, and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Report mechanical issues immediately and perform basic vehicle upkeep to ensure longevity.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL License: Must hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL with the appropriate endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred but not always required).
- Clean Driving Record: No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and a clean MVR record.
- Weekend Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Friday through Sunday) with occasional overnight shifts if required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, climb in and out of the cab, and stand for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills in English, capable of reading maps and following written directions.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred.
- Documentation: Valid DOT Medical Card and current proof of insurance.
