Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight within Nashville and surrounding regions
- Maintain strict adherence to DOT regulations, including HOS compliance and vehicle inspections
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation while adapting to real-time traffic conditions
- Load/unload cargo with proper securing techniques to prevent damage during transit
- Complete accurate delivery documentation and maintain electronic logging system
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding delays, route changes, or delivery issues
- Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Nashville metro area and Tennessee roadways
- Experience with flatbed, dry van, or refrigerated trailers preferred
- Strong attention to safety protocols and defensive driving skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting common vehicle issues
- Flexibility to work Saturdays and Sundays with occasional holiday coverage
