Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles to transport goods to designated delivery locations in Long Beach and surrounding areas.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing of freight to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol screen and background check.
- Ability to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) as required by the schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, safe decisions in traffic.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record (MVR).
