Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers on local and regional delivery routes within Indiana and Illinois.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and DOT compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate records in electronic logging devices (ELD) and complete all necessary delivery paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedule changes or delivery issues.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B (Tanker or Hazmat endorsements preferred but not required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Current DOT Medical Card and DOT Drug Screening clearance.
- Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional attitude.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and in varying weather conditions.
