Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) to deliver freight throughout the San Jose metro area and surrounding regions.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely using proper equipment, ensuring cargo integrity from origin to destination.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery logs within strict legal timeframes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve delivery issues and update status in real-time.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company driving policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL license required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Current DOT Medical Card and valid DOT physical.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or DUIs in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to work flexible weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) as required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic proficiency with handheld devices or delivery software is a plus.
