Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A or Class B trucks safely and efficiently on local and regional routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any defects or damage.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing straps/tarps.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Basic math skills for reading bills of lading and calculating weights.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing in and out of the cab.
- Must have a satisfactory background check.
