Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver goods to customers in and around San Jose, CA, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) to ensure the safety and mechanical integrity of the truck.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads according to safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) compliant with FMCSA regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company driving standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3-5 years).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Current DOT Medical Card and a valid DOT physical examination certificate on file.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of local San Jose area roads, highways, and geography.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
