Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated, flatbed) safely and efficiently
- Plan optimal routes for on-time deliveries while adhering to DOT regulations
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and document maintenance logs
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Maintain electronic logs (ELD) and delivery documentation
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Urgently respond to last-minute route changes or delivery requests
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Proficiency with GPS navigation and electronic logging devices
- Flexibility for overnight trips and irregular schedules
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Texas residency required for urgent local routes
