Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicle: Drive commercial trucks in a safe, efficient, and legal manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company protocols.
- Load and Unload: Properly load and unload cargo, ensuring all items are secured and handled with care to prevent damage.
- Maintain Logs: Keep accurate records of driving hours, miles traveled, and vehicle inspections using electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical issues before hitting the road.
- Customer Service: Deliver freight to customers in a timely manner while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Clean Record: A clean driving record with no serious violations or accidents in the past 3 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Physical Ability: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and meet strength requirements.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to use a radio or phone dispatch system.
- Background Check: Must be willing to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
