Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B) across Chicagoland and Midwest routes
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT compliance logs
- Load/unload freight with proper securement protocols and safety standards
- Optimize delivery routes while maintaining strict on-time performance metrics
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and warehouse teams
- Adhere to all FMCSA regulations and company safety policies
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record (3+ years verifiable experience)
- Strong knowledge of Chicago traffic patterns and regional highway systems
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Experience with hazmat tanker or flatbed preferred but not required
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices and transportation software
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions
