Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring proper securing and handling of cargo.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding schedules and delivery requirements.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Physical) available for review.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial truck driving experience.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of Houston, TX, and the surrounding highway system.
- Physical ability to load/unload cargo and perform daily vehicle checks.
