Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A or Class B vehicles safely and efficiently across New England and into New York.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing mechanisms.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and comply with all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in optimal working condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding safety, fuel efficiency, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the appropriate endorsements (Tanker/Hazmat preferred but not always required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, road conditions, and safe driving practices.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform minor vehicle checks.
