Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) to deliver freight safely and on schedule across the West Coast.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate handling equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Maintain accurate logs (DVIR, ELD, delivery receipts) and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse managers, and customers to resolve delivery issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance, such as checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and reporting mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL license with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Must possess the required endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples preferred but not always required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road conditions, and safe driving practices.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform vehicle maintenance checks.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
