Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (tractor-trailer) to deliver freight to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper handling and placement.
- Maintain accurate records of hours of service, delivery receipts, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no recent major violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Basic math and computer skills for log entry.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
