Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicle: Drive commercial trucks and delivery vehicles in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and Unload: Manually load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of goods and securing loads to prevent damage during transit.
- Vehicle Inspection: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition and document any issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, mileage, and fuel consumption in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, handling deliveries with care and maintaining a positive company image.
- Route Management: Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries, making adjustments as necessary based on traffic and road conditions.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with the necessary endorsements.
- Clean Record: A clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Physical Capability: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination, including lifting requirements and vision standards.
- Experience: Previous experience in truck driving or logistics is preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps and delivery instructions.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours, including weekends, early mornings, or late evenings as needed.
