Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely drive 18-wheelers, box trucks, and delivery vans to meet delivery schedules and routes.
- Load and Unload Cargo: Secure cargo properly using straps, chains, and bars to ensure safety during transit.
- Vehicle Inspection: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure DOT compliance.
- Maintain Records: Accurately maintain electronic logging devices (ELD), mileage logs, and delivery receipts.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dock personnel to ensure a smooth loading/unloading process.
- Route Planning: Efficiently navigate routes to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Current Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience (CDL A preferred).
- Legal Status: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Medical Certification: Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background and driving record check.
- Hazmat Endorsement (Preferred):> Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and GPS systems.
