Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and vans safely and efficiently over assigned routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, adhering to weight distribution and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to minimize risk and ensure passenger/cargo safety.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Adhere to all company policies, traffic laws, and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (no more than 2 minor violations in the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and local road conditions in Seattle, CA.
- Basic computer literacy for logging hours and handling paperwork.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
