Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers on local and regional routes throughout Detroit and surrounding areas.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, ensuring proper securement.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the cab and cargo area at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B (CDL Class A preferred).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic regulations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
