Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B CDL) for freight transportation across designated routes
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and safety protocols during all operations
- Perform pre-trip inspections, basic maintenance checks, and accurate documentation
- Load/unload cargo efficiently with proper handling techniques
- Maintain excellent communication with dispatch team and clients
- Optimize delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals
- Support warehouse operations when needed during shift transitions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Minimum 1 year verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of Washington DC metro area and surrounding regions
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgment calls
- Flexible schedule availability for overnight shifts (typically 7 PM - 5 AM)
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred
