Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe, efficient, and legally compliant manner on assigned routes.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Cargo Handling: Load, secure, and unload cargo using proper safety equipment and techniques.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of driving time, miles driven, and cargo status (DOT/ELD compliance).
- Customer Service: Deliver goods on time and represent Apex Logistics professionally to customers and clients.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- CDL License: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or Class B) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Medical Certification: Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) or DOT medical card.
- Record: Clean driving record (MVR) with no preventable accidents or serious traffic violations in the past 3 years.
- Schedule: Ability to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) and holidays as needed.
- Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge and proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD).
