Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Drive commercial trucks and trailers on designated routes during night hours to ensure timely delivery of freight.
- Vehicle Inspection: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety compliance and report any maintenance needs immediately.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring all items are secured properly for transit.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records, delivery receipts, and bill of lading documents.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations, company policies, and traffic laws to ensure a accident-free driving record.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and stakeholders, representing Apex Logistics with integrity and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Current Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License required.
- Medical Certificate: Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) on file.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no major violations or DUIs in the last 3 years.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Experience: Proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
