Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Commercial Vehicles: Drive commercial trucks and vans on designated routes in and around the Indianapolis area, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Cargo Handling: Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securement and handling of materials according to safety standards.
- Log Management: Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including hours of service (HOS), miles driven, and delivery status using electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service by maintaining a professional demeanor with clients and ensuring accurate delivery of goods.
- Compliance: Adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations in the last 3 years).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or similar rotating schedules).
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Documentation: Must have a current Medical Examiner's Certificate and a valid DOT medical card.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use handheld scanners and navigation systems.
