Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (Class A or B) on assigned local and regional routes.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo security and proper handling.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and logbooks.
- Navigate complex routes in the Detroit metro area using GPS and maps.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Previous experience in truck driving, logistics, or freight transport is preferred.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
