Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers safely and efficiently on designated routes throughout Columbus and surrounding areas.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and prevent mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing cargo for transit.
- Maintain accurate logs using ELD (Electronic Logging Devices) and adhere strictly to FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and status updates.
- Uphold strict safety standards and company policies at all times while driving.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Previous truck driving experience is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently in a night shift environment.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and paperwork.
