Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) for overnight freight delivery
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT logs
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and optimize routes for efficiency
- Secure and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and safety protocols
- Communicate with dispatch teams regarding route conditions and delivery status
- Maintain compliance with FMCSA regulations and company safety standards
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean MVR (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of tractor-trailer experience in overnight/night shift operations
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and operate loading equipment
- Pass DOT physical and random drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with Michigan roadways and Midwest corridor routes
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work weekends/holidays during peak seasons
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation
