Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers safely and efficiently on local and long-haul routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Secure cargo properly and adhere to all weight and balance regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and paperwork, including delivery receipts and bills of lading.
- Provide excellent customer service during loading and unloading processes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs and accidents immediately to the fleet manager.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and DOT drug screen clearance.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or DUIs within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and substance abuse screening.
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and DOT regulations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
