Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks over designated routes in and around Long Beach and the Greater Los Angeles area.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo accurately, ensuring weight distribution is balanced and secure.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and maintain all required documentation.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance checks (tire pressure, fluid levels) as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) issued by the state of California.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no DUIs or serious violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (including marijuana).
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours of service (HOS), and cargo securement.
