Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for regional and local routes
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations
- Inspect vehicles before/after shifts to ensure optimal safety and performance
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment handling protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Adapt to changing schedules and route conditions while maintaining on-time performance
- Participate in ongoing safety training and equipment certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (3+ years experience)
- Current DOT medical certification and TWIC card
- Proven expertise in multi-axle vehicles and hazardous materials endorsement (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of California traffic laws and port operations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate manual transmissions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Pass pre-employment background and drug screening
- Flexibility for early morning starts and occasional weekend shifts
