Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A) in a safe and efficient manner to deliver freight to designated destinations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and manage delivery paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies to ensure a secure driving environment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Unload freight at delivery locations using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Keep the truck clean and organized, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) on file.
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
