Job Summary
As a CDL Driver at Piedmont Transport, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across the Southeast. You will represent our brand on the road, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to all safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety of the cargo and vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo securely using proper equipment and techniques.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and complete necessary delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding pickup and delivery schedules.
- Adhere to strict safety standards and participate in ongoing safety training programs.
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites and during roadside inspections.
Qualifications
- CDL Required: Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- No Experience Needed: Candidates with a Chauffeur's License and willingness to obtain a CDL are encouraged to apply.
- Medical Certificate: Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old.
- Documentation: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Skills: Basic math skills for cargo weight calculation and map reading.
