Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers safely and efficiently on local and regional routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement using straps and chains.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Uphold company policies regarding safety, compliance, and professional conduct at all times.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Must have a clean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks is a plus.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and willing to submit to a background check.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
