Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and vans safely on local and regional routes throughout New Orleans and surrounding areas.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing forklifts and pallet jacks as required.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel to ensure timely deliveries.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations in the last 3 years.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of basic truck mechanics and air brake systems.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
