Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) to transport freight across local and regional routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and safety.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads according to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs and records, including electronic logging device (ELD) entries and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, traffic signals, and safety regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any route changes.
- Maintain a clean and professional driving record and vehicle appearance.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B (depending on equipment).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, safety procedures, and traffic laws.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance checks.
