Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and delivery documentation (bills of lading).
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
- Uphold a professional image and represent the company positively.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to undergo paid training if you have a CDL but limited experience.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and occasional overnight travel.
