Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers in a safe, efficient, and legal manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load & Unload: Safely load and unload freight using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring cargo security and balance.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues immediately to maintenance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and electronic logging device (ELD) logs in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Customer Service: Deliver freight to designated locations on time, communicate with dispatch and customers professionally, and handle any delivery issues.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) Class A or B with the appropriate endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Record: Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb in and out of the cab frequently, and sit for extended periods.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to read and understand traffic signs and road maps.
