Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and box trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or manual handling equipment, ensuring weight distribution is correct.
- Prepare daily delivery logs, delivery receipts, and other paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety hazards before hitting the road.
- Navigate complex delivery routes in the Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding areas using GPS and road maps.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing the Swift Transportation brand to customers and the public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delays, route changes, or delivery issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Current DOT medical card and physical examination certificate.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents within the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety compliance standards.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
