Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Commercial Vehicles: Drive trucks to deliver and pick up cargo in and around the Mesa, AZ area, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and Unload Cargo: Properly secure freight using straps and chains to ensure cargo safety during transit.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, mileage, and fuel usage as required by DOT regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers at delivery sites to ensure satisfaction and handle any complaints or special instructions.
- Route Planning: Follow assigned routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries and optimal fuel consumption.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Current Commercial Driver's License (Class A or Class B) with the proper endorsements (Hazmat or Tanker endorsements are a plus).
- Driving Record: Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no recent major violations.
- Experience: Proven track record of safe driving and experience in the transportation industry.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with dispatch and customers.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
