Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or Class B) on designated routes throughout San Diego and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and traffic laws at all times.
- Keep the truck cab and cargo area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate class (Class A or B) and endorsements (Hazmat preferred but not required).
- A current and clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no more than two preventable accidents in the last three years.
- Must pass a DOT physical examination and meet Department of Transportation standards for physical fitness.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
